GALLERY V: THE BIG PAINTING SERIES - 2019
In February 2019, I decided to go back to painting with acrylics on canvas. It had been several years since I had done anything major with painting, but I started having these kind of more visionary ideas that seemed more fitting for a bigger size and expression. Originally, I was toying with the idea of incorporating them into the Quasar Shores project in some way; obviously it's in sort of the same vein as those pieces. I finally decided on fifteen 16" x 20" canvases, and seven 8" x 10" canvases. I also kind of became obsessed with getting these into a gallery or some kind of space for a solo painting show.
I worked pretty much steadily on these from February through August, stopping occasionally to regroup and recharge, as well as continue work on other projects. I began to try to shop these around to various friends and others who may have had connections with galleries that would be willing to take on a solo show by me. As the next few months passed, not much became of it. As 2020 dawned, I tried again to research the possibility of a gallery show, but...certain worldwide events that surfaced in March kind of put a stop to that.
So here they are, finally, on display for the world to see, if they happen to stumble upon it.
